Like many of you, I was shocked, saddened, and dismayed at the result of the protests in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021.
Don’t misunderstand me: they had a right to protest the election of November 3, 2020. There were numerous disturbing and serious breakdowns of our election system on that day. Isn’t it interesting that most of the serious problems were in “battleground” states . . . almost like it was planned? (That’s a joke . . . of course it was planned and executed by the Democratic Party, taking advantage of the Covid pandemic). Many of these irregularities were constitutional issues, where the Constitution was literally violated and/or ignored. Not good . . .
What protesters (any protesters) never have a right to do is resort to violence. I said it when for three or more months in the summer, Antifa and BLM were destroying our cities, and I say it now on January 6, 2020, for the protest in Washington, D.C. (by the way, I recall that NOTHING was said for months by the leaders of the Democratic Party during the summer, and yet now they are screaming foul with much less damage to person or property). The violence is not acceptable then or now.
So why did this even happen?
Predictably (and to some extent rightly so), people are putting this whole thing at the feet of Donald Trump. He incited a riot, they say, and to some extent I agree with that assessment. But let’s back up for a moment . . .
What if the Supreme Court had taken the Texas case? Or the Pennsylvania case, or Nevada, or Georgia, etc, etc.? What if they had decided to listen to the grievances of THOUSANDS of people, representing 75 MILLION voters, regarding the irregularities and fraud that were obvious to EVERYONE (even though many Democrats wouldn’t admit it, because they liked the result of the fraud)? If even one case had been taken on this issue by the Supreme Court, do you think that January 6, 2021 in Washington, D.C. would have even happened?
I don’t . . . and I think most Americans would agree with me.
Most of us would stand by for the case to be heard, adjudicated, and settled by the highest court. That is what they are there for . . . and they FAILED THE NATION MISERABLY to do their duty under the laws of the Constitution.
Instead, Justice Roberts and his colleagues decided that this “political arena” was not within their purview. I totally disagree. In fact, I would say that the political arena is their HIGHEST moral duty, precisely because it goes to the heart of the Constitution and in this case, the disenfranchisement of all of the voters in the United States. The political arena is obviously the most corrupt arena (especially today), and needs the watchdog of the Supreme Court the most for that reason.
Trump supporters (and Trump himself) had no other recourse but to protest on January 6th. Frustration ran rampant for all of those disenfranchised people, including Trump.
We can all agree that Trump should have acted differently on that day. It turned into something that it should never turn into . . . violent.
However, I’m putting the major blame for any protest at all that day on the steps of our weak and cowardly Supreme Court. They should have taken the case, and prevented all of January 6th . . .
